Bengaluru, Aug 19: Karnataka state legislative assembly speaker Kagodu Thimmappa has nominated MLA of Mangaluru South constituency J R Lobo as the chairman of state legislative backward class and minority welfare committee.
The committee will be effective from August 21.
Lobo is also member of regional task force for the development of DK and Udupi districts, external member of jury for National School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, panel member of Administrative Training Institute, Mysuru, and member of Academic Council of Mangalore University.
