Mangalore, September 30: MLA JR Lobo inaugurated the exhibition- cum- sale of products prepared by the beneficiaries of Udyogini and Sthree Shakti self help group members, organised jointly by Karnataka State Women Development Corporation and department of Women and Child Welfare in the premises of Kanthi Church near Mangaladevi in Mangalore on Monday, September 29th.
J R Lobo said, successful women entrepreneurs should encourage other women to come to the mainstream.
“A country can progress only with the progress of women. The society cannot progress, when women do not get the respect she deserves,” Lobo said.
Gatrude Veigas, Deputy Director of Women and Child Welfare department said that loans and subsidies have been provided to women beneficiaries under Udyogini scheme.
In this occasion, Sunder Poojary, District Sthree Shakti nodal officer and Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation district representative Chandrika Rao were present.
In the exhibition, women business persons from Dakshina Kannada, Shimoga and Gadag districts displayed their products. Food stuffs, dress materials, imitation jewellery and other items were displayed. This exhibition continues till October 4th.
