Mangaluru, 21 Mar 2015: MLA J R Lobo along with mayor Jacinta Alfred and municipal commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati inspected the ongoing concreting work between Kadri and Nantoor road and reviewed its progress here on Friday March 20.

Meanwhile, MLA Lobo advised the municipal engineers to expedite the work and complete the stretch in 4 weeks to allow vehicular traffic.

He further instructed the engineers to set up a bus bay, lay proper footpath, dividers and to shift the pump house, which is located adjacent to the road.

Speaking to media persons, MLA Lobo said that out of 4 lanes, 2 lanes will be completed in a week and will be maintained for curing for 3 weeks. Afterwards, vehicles will be allowed to use the road – two ways. Simultaneously, construction work of 2 additional lanes will begin, without disturbing vehicular traffic, explained MLA Lobo.

Concreting of Vas Lane – Mallikatta stretch

After interacting with the locals, MLA Lobo also said that the stretch between Vas Lane to Mallikatta (Kadri temple entrance) will be concreted and the work will begin in a month.

He instructed the municipal engineers not to damage any trees and suggested to maintain a provision for flow of water either side of the road, underground drainage system and cables.

The local corporator Sabitha Misquith, Ashok D K, Asha D’Silva, Denis D’Silva, Tejaswi Raj, Ramanand and Nelson Montiero were present.
