Mangaluru: MLA J R Lobo inaugurated the Road work in Kodialguthu here on November 8. The road work will be completed within four months at a total cost of Rs 75 lakh.
After the inauguration, J R Lobo speaking to the mediapersons said that the Kodialguthu Bypass road work has begun under the SFC grant. Rs 75 lakh has been sanctioned for the Concreting of 375 meter road work. In addition to the 245 meter road, Rs 60 lakh will be sanctioned under the 3rd 100 crore project scheme.
The work will be completed in 4 months as it is a busy road in the city. When there is repair of the main road people use the bypass road. In the rainy season the condition is worse, so we have decided to Concretize all the bypass roads along with the main roads. By concretizing the Kodialguthu road we have almost completed the Concreting of most of the bypass roads. Now the Kadri bypass road is pending for concreting. If we start the concreting of Kadri bypass road, the entire city will be completely concretized. Contractor Sudhakar Punja has assured to complete the work on time.
Lobo said that the drainage pumping pipelines are laid and there is no problem for Concreting of the roads in Kodialguthu area. Now we have changed the working pattern and are shifting the drainage as well as the electric pipes before Concreting of the roads.
Mayor Mahabala Marla said that for the smooth work of the roads, we have taken all the measures. We will develop the roads in all the 25 circles in the city to solve the traffic congestion problem. In 5 years we will work for the development of the city and for the convenience of the people.
Congress leaders Suresh Ballal, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Deputy mayor Kavitha, Corporators, Lancelot Pinto, D K Ashok, Sashidhar Hegde, Prakash B S, Sadananda Shetty, Premanand Shetty and others were also present.
