Mangaluru: A full fledged market will be constructed at Bikarnakatte in Mangaluru city and existing shops will be displaced temporarily for the works to be undertaken for the construction of the market, said MLA JR Lobo after reviewing the present market at Bikarnakatte in the city on Tuesday. The MLA said that the existing ‘Varada Santhe,’ (Weekly Market) will also be displaced for the construction purpose.
MLA has asked the officials to make necessary arrangement for good drainage system in area as a proper drainage facility is essential in the area for the smooth movement of polluted and rain water to keep the area clean and neat. Separate stalls, shops will be constructed for the sale of chicken, meat and fish in the upcoming market. Therefore the shop owners should cooperate with the new upcoming arrangements in the area, JR Lobo said. MLA has also asked the concerned officials to conduct a survey for the construction of the new shops and land to be utilized for National Highway on the occasion.
