Mangaluru, Feb 24, 2018: Rajya Sabha member and former union minister Oscar Fernandes symbolically laid the foundation for the G+3 model residential complex which will come up at Rajeev Nagar in Kulshekhar under the join aegis of the Union and State Governments as well as Mangaluru South Assembly Constituency unit.
Speaking at the function held at Cordel Church Hall on February 24, Saturday, Oscar lauded the various welfare schemes initiated by the state government and said the Hunger-free state aimed by the Congress government is a model to the nation.
JR Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South said there was a target to provide 2000 houses to the homeless. He said 930 flats would come up at a cost of Rs 70 crores in the next 18 months period.
Mayor Kavitha Sanil, Deputy Mayor Rajaneesh, MUDA Chairman Suresh Ballal, Corporators Abdul Ravoof, Bhasker, Shashidhar Hegde, Zubaida, MCC Commissioner Mohammad Nazeer and others were present.
