Mangalore: “Protect our culture and history. It is only through these we can revive our traditions and pass it to our coming generations” said D.K Shivakumar, Minister for Energy.
He was speaking at the Onam Utsav celebration organised by Kerala Samajam at Dr. T.M.A Pai Convention Center, Mangalore on Sunday, September 14.
The programme was presided over by T.K Rajan, President of Kerala Samajam.
Minister further said “Even though British ruled India and fled the nation with its resources they could not loot our traditions and values. Even today we are known for our customs, celebrations, and religious practices all over the world”.
B Ramanath Rai, Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment and DK District In-Charge Minister said “The coastal region of Karnataka and Malabar of Kerala has lot of similarities and Onam celebrations fulfill the idea of unity in diversity”.
U.T Khader, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake Minister For Urban Development and Udupi District In-Charge Minister, K Abhayachandra Jain, Youth Affairs and Fisheries Minister, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, J.R Lobo, MLA, Mangalore (South), B.A Moideen Bava, MLA, Mangalore (North), A.J Shetty, President of AJ Group of Institutions, Gokulam Gopalan, President of Gokulan Group of Asscoiations and others were present as guest of honour.
