Mangaluru, August 8: MLA J R Lobo addressed a press meet at his office on Saturday August 8th and briefed about plans to develop Rang Mandir, crematoriums, computerization of MCC and various developmental works to be undertaken in the city.

Computerization of MCC:

Speaking about the process of computerization of Mangaluru City Corporation, Lobo said, it will be completed within a year. All the facilities like paying water bill, tax, application for birth and death certificates and trade licence will be made online.

Crematoriums:

Lobo said, there are many problems in crematoriums in Kadri, Boloor and Nandigudda. Appropriate actions will be taken solve these problems. There are plans for a small crematorium in Bengre too.

Shaktinagar crematorium is the best of all the crematoriums. It is well maintained and all crematoriums need to be developed in the same way. When a person expires, his last rites need to be done in respectful way. Hence we are making all necessary arrangements to develop the crematoriums in the best possible way, Lobo said.

Rang Mandir in Kadri:

MLA J R Lobo said, for the construction of Rang Mandir at Kadri, tenders have been invited and the work will commence shortly. The Rang Mandir will be constructed at a cost of Rs 27.5 lakhs, electrification will be done at a cost of Rs 3 lakhs, gallery and other arrangements will be done at a cost of Rs 5 lakhs. It is a dream project of corporator Ashok D K, he said.
Other projects:

J R lobo also gave details on other developmental projects which will be taken up in the city and said, most of the projects have got sanctions and funds from the government and some proposals are pending for approval.

42 projects have been taken up like construction of bus stand in Pumpwell, development of Kadri Park, construction of Kulshekar Kannagudde and Kongur Mutt road, construction of hanging bridge in Tannirbavi, development of Mangaluru market, parking facility in Hampankatta old bus stand, construction of road and drainage at Padil railway underbridge, widening the stretch to the Kankanady railway station, construction of roads and footpaths, construction of railway under-bridge in Mahakalipadpu and Kudpadi, construction of road from Yeyyadi to Shaktinagar, Kanakarabettu road construction near College of Fisheries, Netravati to Kannur bypass road construction, and others.

Some among the other project works MLA Lobo, mentioned were developing fish market at the old harbour, installation of underground electricity cables in the city, construction of electricity substation in Mannagudda, upgrading the electricity substation near Nehru Maidan, construction of international swimming pool in Yemmekere, construction of cricket stadium in Bondel, development of Gujjarakere lake, construction of Mini Vidhana Soudha, construction of PWD quarters, Court road, Bajal road, Kabbadi and badminton indoor stadium near Urwa Store, construction of road from Urwa store to Sultan Battery and developing the 3rd phase of fishing harbour.

Lobo also spoke about many other developmental projects in the city.
