Mangalore,March,29,2014 : One of India’s oldest and popular circus, the ‘Gemini Circus’, was inaugurated March28, 2014 at Karavali Exhibition Grounds, Mangalore by Mayor of M C C Mahabala Marla, along with state minister Abhayachandra Jain, MLA JR Lobo and Ln Dian Augustine by cutting the ribbon and also by lighting the traditional lamp.
This year the the City audience will witness thrilling acts performed by the African artistes-The African Troupe includes 9 members, Team leader Anthoni Maxmilian Nchimbi, Hanna Jumma, Salma Masiku, Selemani Ally Mohammedi, Moses Joseph, Omary Hamadi Upindo, Abubakary Zubery Mzee, , Jofrey Zihirwan Nzota Mb Wambo, Abasi Adam Mk Wama.
Various other entertainment during the nearly 2-hour show are : Formation of human Pyramids : Pyramids are formations abstracted from the wild habitual levity, this demonstrates swiftness, endurance, power, speed and perseverance to form Human Pyramids – in between semi-pyramids, moves performed in two, three of four acrobatics.
The Doctor Elephant item wherein Lakshmi, an Elephant plays the role of a doctor and Rani, an Elephant plays the role of a patient. The Elephant Cricket item has Lakshmi, an Elephant playing some lofted shots for a six like Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The Siva Pooja item has an Elephant worshiping the Siva Lingam.
