Mangaluru, 7 Dec 2014: The proposal has been presented to state administration, in order to set up units of Bangaluru-based Kidwai Cancer Hospital and Jayadev Heart Hospital at state-run TB Hospital at Vamanjoor here, said state health minister U T Khader.
The minister U T Khader was speaking during the inaugural of new divisions at district Wenlock Hospital here on Friday December 5.
Wenlock Hospital – Super Specialty
The measures are being taken to develop district Wenlock Hospital as super specialty. The inaugural of various divisions are being held as preliminaries. The dialysis centre will be reconstructed to modernize the healthcare services. The digital x-ray facility will be introduced shortly, said minister Khader.
Hi-tech lab
The dispensaries will be set up in Wenlock Hospital within 3 months to provide medicines to patients. The efforts are under way to set up hi-tech laboratory in Wenlock Hospital to provide MRI and scanning facilities at uniform rates to ordinary patients. A unit of AYUSH Hospital will be set up in Mangaluru and there are plans to provide food in state-run hospitals at lowest rate, said minister Khader.
Wenlock Hospital trusted by common-folks: Minister Rai
Speaking on the occasion, minister Rai said Dakshina Kannada district has greater significance in healthcare services in the nation. The district has greater number of doctors who are working in different specialized fields in various hospitals across the world. The patients from remote areas are arriving at Wenlock Hospital because of late it has added many state-of-the-art healthcare services. Thus, it has emerged as most trusted state-run hospital, said MLA J R Lobo.
The state youth services, sports and fisheries minister Abayachandra Jain, MLC Ivan D’Souza, ZP vice president Satish Kumpala, deputy mayor Kavita Vasu, ZP CEO Tulasi Maddineni, district health and family welfare officer Dr Ramakrishna Rao wee present on the occasion.
Wenlock Hospital Dr Eerappa welcomed the gathering, The district surgeon and medical superintendent Dr Rajeshwari Devi H R delivered the introductory address.
