Mangaluru, 08 Oct 2016: MLA J R Lobo here on Friday, October 8, instructed the fisheries officials to build a temporary shed for fisherwomen for selling fish till a permanent shed will be constructed at Bengre, here.
MLA Lobo was speaking during the meeting of port, fisheries and MESCOM officials related to the issue of fisherwomen here on Friday morning.
The third phase of works @ Rs 55 crore that is already undertaken will be waste, as a minimum of Rs 2 crore is needed to develop Bunder Road and lay a culvert. It has become a constraint, despite this, the fisheries minister Pramod Madwaraj is persistent in his efforts in getting this funds, said MLA Lobo.
The union government has not released Rs 32 crore in this regard. Meanwhile, it’s not possible to construct permanent shed @ Rs 47 lac. Therefore, the temporary shed will be early solution, added MLA Lobo.
