Mangaluru: MLA JR Lobo laid the foundation stone for the construction and renovation of the Underground Drainage system at an estimated cost of Rs 28 Lakh near Shree Muthappa Temple in the Railway Colony here, on August 22.
MLA Lobo said that an additional fund of Rs 25 lakh is required to complete the entire UGD system in the area and it will be sanctioned in the next stage. The earlier work of the UGD costing Rs 10 lakh has been completed. He also promised to grant funds for laying interlocks in the premises.
Besides, Lobo appreciated the initiative of corporator A C Vinayraj to develop and concrete the complete stretch of the court and Sanyasi Gudda road.
Deputy mayor Purushotham Chitrapura, local corporator A C Vinayraj, Deepak Poojary, Prakash Salian, Rajneesh, Abdul Latheef and others were also present.
