Bengaluru, 30 Nov 2016: Mangaluru city is at the forefront among tier II cities. It has business prospects and infrastructural facilities at par with Bengaluru, said Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo. MLA Lobo was speaking during IT/BT Convention held here on Tuesday, November 29, on ample opportunities to invest in IT industry in Mangaluru. He explained about the educational institutions, infrastructural facilities, culture that are conducive for investing in Mangaluru. The special emphasis was laid to begin IT businesses in tier II cities: Mangaluru, Mysuru, Hubballi, Belagavi and Gulbarga. Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) president Jeevan Saldanha explained about the scope for beginning industries in Mangaluru.
Dakshina Kannada district DC Dr Jagadeesha offered assurances of investors-friendly district administration and also security. It’s significant that Mangaluru group comprised MLA, representatives of industries and Deputy Commissioner that was noted by the investors. The industries representatives from other tier II cities were present without MLA and representative of district administration. The investors seek support of local MLA, district administration and trust of local entrepreneurs, in order to set up their industries. Mangaluru joint industrial director Gokuldas Nayak and entrepreneurs of IT in Mangaluru were present.
A documentary on infrastructural facilities that are available in Mangaluru and ample opportunities for opening IT industries was screened on the occasion. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah inaugurated 19th Overseas Investors Convention at palace complex, here on Monday, November 28. Karnataka industries minister Deshpande, IT minster Priyanka Karge, Bengaluru development minister K J George, senior officers, IT entrepreneurs from Netherland, Bangladesh, Japan, Australia, Canada, USA and other nations were present.
